You Can Be a Powerful Voice in a Child's Life
This fall, CASA of Talbot and Dorchester Counties will offer its annual Pre-Service
Training to applicants who are interested in becoming volunteer Court Appointed Special
Advocates.
CASAs are everyday citizens who have the courage to stand up for children thrust into
the judicial court system through not fault of their own. Some are victims of violence,
sexual or psychological abuse, and others have been neglected or abandoned by their own
parents.

Local Community Pulls Together to Benefit CASA
Magical and enchanting, CASA of Talbot County’s April 9th spring fundraiser, The Magic of
CASA, delivered as promised. Thanks to the combined talents of event committee members,
including Mary Lou McAllister, Bruce Wiltsie, Christina Hoff, Mary Griffin, Buck Duncan,
Mary Van Fossan, Stephanie Handy, and Carolyn Williams, along with the generosity of multiple donors, guests found the Tidewater Inn’s Gold Room transformed into a magical
wonderland, complete with levitating mannequins, fortune tellers, and shows of illusion.

Last Tuesday, supporters of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Talbot County, which includes Dorchester County, gathered in the Gold Room at the Tidewater Inn to enjoy a Celebration of Children luncheon. The theme and setting certainly was appropriate for the season of joy and giving.
